Fathiya Ishag is an IDP woman heading a household of 9 members in Kadangar IDPs camp in central Darfur –Sudan; she was select as a beneficiary to receive agriculture support supplies tools and training on crops production technologies from VSFG/UN-CHF project. She received crops production package comprising (Sorghum 4kg, groundnuts 10 kg, cowpea 4kg, okra 100 grm, watermelon 100 grm, tomato20 grm, onion 100 grm, one hoe, one rake and shared one donkey plough with other 5 families. With this support she planted an area of 3 Hectares. Fathiya harvested 300 kg of sorghum, 200 kg of ground nut beside cowpea, okra, watermelon and tomatoes. From The harvested cowpea, okra, watermelon and tomatoes Fathiya sold two third of it and gained SDG 2000 ($330). The 300 kg of sorghum, 200 kg of ground nut beside one third amounts harvested from cowpea, okra, watermelon and tomatoes were left to the family consumption, she stated that this quantity will satisfy the family food need for 4 months.
